TechCrunch has it that QR Code Payments are literally making their way until Facebook Pay. Provision of an option called “Scan” has been made at the top of the app screen. Once you tap on it, you get either your QR Code or scan someone else’s own.

 You’ll get a link which you’ll send to people who can open the QR Code in their browser and scan it from the comfort of their own home. Facebook made it possible for you to skip the physical meet-up.

 Initially, the New QR Code Payments method/ feature was just addition that appeared with no fanfare or official announcement but a Facebook spokesperson reached out to TechCrunch to confirm that it’s the real deal:

 “To make payments or messenger even easier, we’ve begun testing the ability for people to use QR Codes and payment links when they want to send or request money”.

To partake in this new technology, you’ll have to live in the US to be eligible to be able to send QR Code Payments. However, if you don’t live in the US, you’ll have to send payments through the Facebook Messenger service plus you’ll have to be 18+ and have a Visa, MasterCard, PayPal or supported prepaid payment method registered on Facebook Pay. You’ll also set US dollars as your desired currency in the app.

Once all the requirements have been met, with patiently for the scan update to download. If it’s been downloaded, you can send and receive payments across Facebook through QR Codes now.
